I’ve been graphic designing for almost 10 years now and I’ve never had to use actions before. I’ve seen them and thought they were the coolest things, but never tried them…weird right. I’ve been mostly doing web design and this type of preset doesn’t really call for it. The one great thing to use these “actions” is for photography! Okay…so you may or may not already know what I’m talking about. Actions, ACTIONS!! Well Adobe Photoshop has many presets: fonts, brushes, shapes, styles etc. Actions are one of those, which are simply pre-recorded tasks that you can reuse. When I edit photos I would tone, contrast and color, which can lead to be a quite extensive process. However, I use the help of these actions to start or finish off photos. If there’s a certain look you want to give your photos it would suck having to repeat the steps over and over. So this is where actions come along. You can make your own, but eh there’s so many you can download and use. Let’s take a peek at before shots and hover over to see the after shot effects.
